Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with your child this year.  My name is Ms. Anderson, and I will have the pleasure of working with your son/daughter for English Language Arts. I teach 7th grade Read 180 and 8th grade Ela.

I graduated from ULM with a B.S. in English Education in 2013. In  2016, I graduated with a M.S. in Teacher Leadership from Walden University.I am dedicated to teaching your child to be an effective writer and reader.

7th Grade Course:Read 180 Expectations/Outline

Read 180 is a course designed to assist readers with reading comprehension,critical reading and thinking, structured writing, reading fluency, grammar skills needed to write effectively, and narrative, research, and analysis based writing.We rotate daily; however, we will not rotate on the following days: include library, common assessments, or writing week.

8th Grade Ela Expectations/ Outline
This course covers reading comprehension, critical thinking, grammar,
vocabulary, and writing. Each nine weeks, we will read a new novel,
 fiction and nonfiction text, and use that information to write narrative, research, and literary analysis based essays.

The unit follows:
2nd- Flowers for Algernon/ Frankenstein
3rd- Tell-Tale Heart/ Monster
4th- Night/Diary of Anne Frank .

Tutoring is offered Monday - Friday from 6:45 til 7:15.
I cannot tutor Monday-Thursday afternoon because I have Reglals practice, but I will tutor Friday afternoon upon request.
